Training Programs

Three formats. All harder than they look. All more expensive than you expect. All worth it. Sensei Steve does not say "worth it" lightly. He has only used the phrase six times in his recorded history.

No Group Chats · No Slack Channels · No Cohort DiscordIf your dojo has a Discord, it is not a dojo.

The Six Week Engagement

The primary program. One sixty minute session per week, in person whenever possible, plus daily homework you will dread, complete anyway, and quietly come to love. By week three, your spouse will notice. By week six, your boss will. Cohorts of one. No make up sessions. If you skip, you owe Sensei Steve a handwritten letter explaining why. Not an email. Not a Notion doc. A letter. With a stamp.

Week 1 to 2 · Diagnosis

We find the lie. We name it out loud, in full sentences, in front of you. You may cry. Most do. Sensei Steve does not look away. Sensei Steve passes you the paper towel.

Week 3 to 4 · Application

We replace the lie with a habit you will hate at first. Sensei Steve will text you at 5:47 AM to confirm the habit happened. He does not accept screenshots.

Week 5 to 6 · Calibration

You start to enjoy the habit. We become suspicious. We dial it up until it is uncomfortable again. We finish on a Friday. There is no graduation ceremony. He shakes your hand and leaves.

Investment: significant. Slots: 4 per year. Audition required. Sensei Steve does not work with people he does not like, and he does not like easily.

The Single Strike Session

A ninety minute sit down for people facing one specific decision. You bring the problem, the constraints, and a list of the people you are afraid to tell the truth to. Sensei Steve provides the spine. Usually held outdoors. Often involves walking. Occasionally involves Wawa coffee, which Sensei Steve will pay for, against his stated principles.

Best suited for: founders before a hard conversation, executives before a layoff, anyone before a wedding.

The Group Karatewa

Small group format. Four to six participants. Designed for executive teams whose internal candor has degraded into politeness. Two days. One room. No phones. No laptops. No "off sites" that are actually two days of presentations.

Sensei Steve has been asked to leave three companies after these sessions. He has been re hired by all three within the year. He keeps the original invitations to leave framed in his office. He sends thank you cards to the people who tried to fire him.

Best suited for: leadership teams who used to argue and have stopped, companies whose decisions take six weeks when they should take six hours.

You Are Not Yet Ready To Do The Work."— Sensei Steve, when asked for a rate card

Investment

Pricing on request. Sensei Steve does not list his rates publicly. In his words: "the website is for the dojo, not the cashier." Please email him anyway. He will respond within 72 hours, usually with another question, usually one you will not want to answer in writing.
